The Seacrest Country Day Stingrays had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They breezed by Community School of Naples on the road to the tune of 59-17. Given Seacrest Country Day's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while Community School of Naples is ranked 467th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Seacrest Country Day found their leader in underclassman Kailee Hayhurst, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Shook, who scored eight points.
Seacrest Country Day is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Community School of Naples, they dropped their record down to 1-11 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seacrest Country Day will take on Canterbury at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Canterbury is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Community School of Naples, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Barron Collier at 5:30 p.m.
