Basketball Recap: Bishop Walsh Sets Scoring Season-High Against Hancock

Bishop Walsh scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Hancock Panthers by a score of 60-57. Even if the Spartans couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Hancock found their leader in sophomore Tucker Welch, who posted 21 points and five rebounds. Those 21 points gave Welch a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ethan Hill, who had 13 points and three steals.

Bishop Walsh is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6. As for Hancock, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Walsh will host Allegany at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hancock, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hyndman Charter School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
