The Niceville Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Nease Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Niceville stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Navarre 63-34 at home. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Deangelo "DJ" Shorts and Dj Robinson were among the main playmakers for Niceville as the former rushed for 214 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries and the latter rushed for 162 yards and five touchdowns on only 14 carries. Shorts' longest rush was for an incredible 71 yards. Niceville also got help from Caden Bridgeman who showed off his sure hands for 126 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Nease waltzed into Friday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 47-27 margin over Tocoi Creek.
Nease's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cam Smith, who rushed for 96 yards and four touchdowns, and also picked up 57 receiving yards. Kj Perry was another major influence, as he rushed for 123 yards and ran in a TD.
Niceville's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.0 points per game. As for Nease, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Niceville came up short against Nease in their previous matchup back in November of 2021, falling 24-19. Thankfully for Niceville, Marcus Stokes (who rushed for 50 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 233 yards and a touchdown) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
