Sparta is 0-10 against Tomah since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Sparta Spartans' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Tomah Timberwolves at 7:15 p.m. on February 13th. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Sparta had to suffer through a rough 71-37 loss at the hands of Aquinas. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sparta has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Gavin Rhead, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Berendes, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, Tomah's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight defeat. They were beaten by La Crosse Logan 76-49.
Sparta has not been sharp recently as the team has lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season. As for Tomah, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-16.
Sparta lost to Tomah on the road by a decisive 76-62 margin when the teams last played back in January. Can Sparta avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
