She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Ava Schneider was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Sophia Jimenez, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Doral Academy faced Wellington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Firebirds sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Wolverines. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Firebirds have posted since April 25, 2024.
Meagan Villazon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 13 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Leyani Viruet, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Anabela Abdullah, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.
Doral Academy's win was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average this season. As for Archbishop McCarthy, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Archbishop McCarthy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .340. However, it's not like Doral Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .385. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
