The Quincy Notre Dame Raiders have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Okawville Rockets at 6:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Thursday, Quincy Notre Dame blew past the Eagles, posting a 65-23 win at home. Given Quincy Notre Dame's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Eagles are ranked 467th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Okawville over the Bulldogs in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Okawville blew the Bulldogs out of the water with a 65-29 final score. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-14.
It was another big night for Alayna Kraus, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Kenley Hackstadt was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Quincy Notre Dame's victory bumped their record up to 23-4. As for Okawville, their win bumped their record up to 17-9.
Quincy Notre Dame beat the Rockets 61-54 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Okawville's Briley Rhodes, who scored 22 points along with two blocks.
