The Aquinas Academy Crusaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell 90-82 to Serra Catholic. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Serra Catholic got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isiah Petty out in front who dropped a triple-double on 15 points, 18 rebounds, and 12 assists. That's the first time this season that Petty posted eight or more assists. Owen Dumbroski was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Aquinas Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Serra Catholic, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Aquinas Academy will take on St. Joseph at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Joseph is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Serra Catholic, they will be playing at home against Leechburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Leechburg has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15.
