The Mohave Thunderbirds suffered their biggest loss since December 4, 2023 on Thursday. They were the victim of a tough 54-30 loss at the hands of Bradshaw Mountain. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mohave has scored all season.
Mohave's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Devon Cook, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Loya Pulido, who scored four points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Mohave struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Bradshaw Mountain racked up 12 assists.
Mason Hunt continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bradshaw Mountain, scoring 27 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Hunt is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Preston Ranniker was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Mohave dropped their record down to 4-12 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road. As for Bradshaw Mountain, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mohave will take on Prescott at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Prescott knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten contests -- so hopefully Mohave likes a good challenge. As for Bradshaw Mountain, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mingus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mingus will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 220th, while Bradshaw Mountain is ranked 80th).
