The Encinal Jets will take on the Arroyo Dons at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Encinal barely beat Analy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Jets put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 14-5 victory on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Jets considering their one-run performance the game before.
Emiko Takemoto made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Takemoto was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Cameron Tran was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kiely Wong, who went 3-for-4 with four runs and two doubles.
Encinal kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.2 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 12.4.
Meanwhile, Arroyo came tearing into Monday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Gauchos.
Like Encinal, Arroyo also got a great game from a two-way player: Sadie Fernandez. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Fernandez has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Neaveah Romero, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Hailey Howard was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Arroyo's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Encinal, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Encinal has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Arroyo struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Encinal couldn't quite finish off Arroyo when the teams last played back in April of 2025 and fell 4-2. Will the Jets have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
