Santa Fe suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Wednesday. They were outmatched by Buchholz on the road and fell 70-26. Santa Fe has struggled against Buchholz recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Union County, who are still winless after their 11th match. They received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 52-37 to Saint Francis Catholic. While losing is never fun, Union County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 586th, while Saint Francis Catholic is ranked 258th).
Santa Fe's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Union County, they bumped their record down to 0-11 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road.
