Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Morgan Park Mustangs, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. Their tough 37-14 loss to St. Francis on Saturday might stick with them for a while. Morgan Park's defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Marcus Thaxton threw for 140 yards and two touchdowns. Chris Durr was his top target, picking up 90 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Keshawn Lewis-Hunt rushed for 60 yards.
St. Francis got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alessio Milivojevic out in front who rushed for 31 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 167 yards and two touchdowns. St. Francis also got a significant boost from Tyvonn Ransom, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 109 yards.
Morgan Park's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for St. Francis, they have yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 10-2 record.
Morgan Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now. St. Francis also has no future games currently scheduled.
