The Charlotte Catholic Cougars stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 65-25 victory over Rocky River on the road. The victory was nothing new for Charlotte Catholic as they're now sitting on six straight.
Charlotte Catholic was led to victory by Blanca Thomas and Gracynn Gough. Thomas scored ten points along with six rebounds and six blocks, while Gough dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Thomas is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted three or more in the last nine games she's played. Olivia Fava was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Rocky River still got an impressive performance from Camille Montgomery, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maiwinah Nepay, who scored four points.
Charlotte Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for Rocky River, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.
Charlotte Catholic is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Garinger is on a three-game streak of home wins, the Cougars a ten-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Rocky River will take on the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Butler presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Ravens in North Carolina (the Bulldogs are ranked 101st, while the Ravens are ranked 321st).
