It was a good run, but the Chickasaw Chieftains unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of McIntosh by a score of 72-69. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Thursday (55), Chickasaw still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Chickasaw lost, one person who can't be blamed is JaMarion Osborne. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 28 points and 13 rebounds. Osborne is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Sydrus Gilmore was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Chickasaw's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for McIntosh, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chickasaw will take on Robertsdale at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Robertsdale focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Thursday. As for McIntosh, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Satsuma at 7:00 p.m. Satsuma comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
