Washington-Wilkes (Washington, Ga.)'s 5-game winning streak, with a 34-7 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Taylor Lamb to
Carter Edwards in the first quarter, the Yellowjackets led 21-0 at the half.
Calhoun expanded its lead to 27 points entering the fourth quarter. CHS scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by
Alex Urbano.
The Yellowjackets' most effective player was Lamb. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns.
The Tigers' lone touchdown came on a pass in the fourth quarter.
Calhoun had given up an average of 14.7 points prior to the contest. Washington-Wilkes came in allowing just 8.9 points per game this season.
The loss comes after Washington-Wilkes defeated Bowdon 66-28 last week.
WW (10-2) will play a playoff game against Calhoun next week. The Yellowjackets enter the contest having posted a 11-0.
