Southridge is 1-9 against Heritage Hills since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Southridge Raiders will head out on the road to take on the Heritage Hills Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Saturday, everything went Southridge's way against Tell City as Southridge made off with a 58-37 win. Given Southridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Tell City is ranked 430th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Heritage Hills put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 70-42 win over Forest Park. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Heritage Hills had established a 20 point advantage.
Heritage Hills' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Trent Sisley, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds, and Jake Prior, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds. Sisley hasn't dropped below 16 points for 15 straight games. Another player making a difference was Hunter Meredith, who scored four points along with four steals.
The win made it two in a row for Southridge and bumps their season record up to 13-5. As for Heritage Hills, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
Southridge came up short against Heritage Hills in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 42-37. Can Southridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
