Volleyball Recap: Dakota Starts Season with Win on the Road

Dakota had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the River Ridge Wildcats by a score of 2-0. The Indians have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

Dakota not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept River Ridge to exactly 17 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-17.

Finley Banks paced Dakota's offense, picking up six kills. Banks got some help from Hailey Kerchner and her 17 assists. Carlie LaBudde controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Despite the loss, River Ridge still got an impressive performance from AVA KETELSEN, who had seven kills, four digs, and one block. KETELSEN is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season.

Dakota didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Stillman Valley on the 26th. As for River Ridge, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Orangeville on the 28th.
