The New Hope-Solebury Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 55-26 loss at the hands of Hatboro-Horsham. New Hope-Solebury lost against Hatboro-Horsham in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 54-20 score last time.
Leading Hatboro-Horsham to victory were Sean Mccue and Ryan Smith. Mccue scored 19 points along with seven rebounds, while Smith almost dropped a triple-double on nine points, 11 assists, and nine steals. That's the first time this season that Smith posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Shane Phillips, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.
New Hope-Solebury bumped their record down to 1-9 with that loss, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Hatboro-Horsham, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-7.
New Hope-Solebury will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Plymouth Whitemarsh at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Hatboro-Horsham's road trip will continue as they head out to face Easton Area at 6:00 p.m. on December 27th.
