Stow-Munroe Falls has gone 9-1 against Nordonia recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Knights at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Stow-Munroe Falls took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They blew past Hudson 16-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Olivia Patterson was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That double was her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aaliyah Thammachack, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that she brought in this season. Terah Bentley was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
Stow-Munroe Falls always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Nordonia got the win against Solon on Monday by a conclusive 14-4. That looming 14-4 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Knights yet this season.
Nordonia got a massive performance out of Laura Garey, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Larken Koran, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Nordonia now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Stow-Munroe Falls, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Nordonia's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Stow-Munroe Falls has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Nordonia, though, as they've been averaging 11.6 hits. Given Stow-Munroe Falls' sizable advantage in that area, the Knights will need to find a way to close that gap.
Stow-Munroe Falls came out on top in a nail-biter against Nordonia in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 10-9. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
