The Leroy Bears can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 82-42 victory over Fruitdale. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-25.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Leroy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaquan Scott, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Scott continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ray Phillips, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and two steals.
Leroy's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7. As for Fruitdale, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leroy will take on Bayshore Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Bayshore Christian is ranked 364th, while Leroy is ranked 339th). As for Fruitdale, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome McIntosh at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th. McIntosh will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
