Baseball Recap: Cedar Wins Going Away Against Uintah

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cedar). They were the clear victor by an 18-6 margin over the Uintah Utes on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Karver Tom and Cooper Payne did most of the damage at the plate: Tom went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Payne went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave Payne a new career-high in RBI. Krew Giles was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Cedar kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Cedar now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Uintah, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Coming up, Cedar will challenge Juab at 8:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Uintah, they will face off against Farmington at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
