Having just played yesterday, the Legacy Christian Grizzlies will head out on the road to face off against the Anderson HomeSchool SONS at 4:00 p.m. on December 16th. Legacy Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Even though Varsity Opponent scored an imposing 58 points on Friday, Legacy Christian still came out on top. Legacy Christian took their contest against Varsity Opponent 71-58. With that victory, Legacy Christian brought their scoring average up to 50.9 points per game.
Nicolas Thomas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 33 points along with six rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Legacy Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Seth Harper, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Anderson HomeSchool ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They secured a 75-69 W over Northside L. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Kailani McCloud, who scored 32 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The contest was his 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Eaks, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Legacy Christian's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-6. As for Anderson HomeSchool, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season.
Saturday's matchup is shaping up to be a blowout: Legacy Christian hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 50.9 points per game. It's a different story for Anderson HomeSchool, though, as they've been averaging only 70.8 points per game. The only thing between Legacy Christian and another offensive beatdown is Anderson HomeSchool. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Legacy Christian skirted past Anderson HomeSchool 2-0 in their previous meeting back in February of 2020. The rematch might be a little tougher for Legacy Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
