Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Seaholm Maples, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell 34-21 to Mott on Friday. Seaholm's loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.
Seaholm's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Granden Kinnie, who rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown.
It was another big night for Kalieb Osborne, who rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 263 yards and two touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Bowe, who picked up 113 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Seaholm's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Mott, their victory was their fourth straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 9-2.
Seaholm does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mott will head out on the road to face off against Carlson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Michigan (Carlson is ranked 69th, while Mott is ranked 63rd).
