Last Tuesday, Josey came up short against Putnam County and fell 67-54. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Josey in their matchups with Putnam County: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Westside scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 103-56 victory over Laney at home. Westside has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 32 points or more this season.
Westside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Xavier Goss led the charge by scoring 22 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Goss has scored all season. Another player making a difference was DeMarco Middleton, who scored 15 points along with eight assists and five steals.
Josey bumped their record down to 0-11 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Westside, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.
Josey took a serious blow against Westside in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 100-30. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Josey was down 56-13.
