It was another big night for Jaidynn Askins, who went 8 of 12 on her way to 23 points along with seven steals and five boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 15.7 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Ri'Kiya Mitchell, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards.
Jackson South Side was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Fayette Ware can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 57-46 victory over Lausanne Collegiate.
Jackson South Side better keep an eye on Ke'Miyah Buggs. She was instrumental in Fayette Ware's win, putting up 25 points in addition to eight steals and seven boards. Buggs' afternoon made it 11 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Victory McKinnie, who posted 17 points and four steals.
The win made it two in a row for Jackson South Side and bumps their season record up to 8-2. As for Fayette Ware, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Jackson South Side has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 34.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Fayette Ware struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.8 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
