Lawrenceburg is 1-9 against Greensburg since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Lawrenceburg Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Greensburg Pirates at 7:15 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Lawrenceburg was able to grind out a solid win over South Dearborn, taking the game 42-32. Given Lawrenceburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while South Dearborn is ranked 336th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lawrenceburg's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aubree Labazzo, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Labazzo has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Natalie Knigga, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Greensburg over Batesville in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Greensburg walked away with a 59-46 win over Batesville.
Lawrenceburg is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Greensburg, their win bumped their record up to 16-4.
Lawrenceburg might still be hurting after the 61-38 defeat they got from Greensburg in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Lawrenceburg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
