The Countryside Christian Minutemen will head out to square off against the Ocala Christian Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Countryside Christian has three straight victories, Ocala Christian has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Thursday, Countryside Christian made easy work of Wildwood and carried off an 18-1 win. Considering the Minutemen have won three matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Kayley Mcleod was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Mcleod was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, Countryside Christian got a massive performance out of Joy Sullivan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Riley Keith was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Countryside Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .750. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .360 or higher in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Ocala Christian fell victim to Peniel Baptist Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 14-0 to the Warriors.
Ocala Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Countryside Christian, their record now sits at 4-2.
Countryside Christian's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's contest. Countryside Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 9.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Ocala Christian, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Countryside Christian continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Countryside Christian's way against Ocala Christian in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Countryside Christian made off with a 27-14 victory. Will Countryside Christian repeat their success, or does Ocala Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
