Burke is 4-0 against Buena Vista since December of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Burke Bulldogs will welcome the Buena Vista Bison at 7:15 p.m. Burke has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Tuesday, Burke lost to Bellevue East on the road by a 75-61 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (59), the Bulldogs still had to take the loss.

Despite their defeat, Burke saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Marcus Buchanan, who posted 17 points, was perhaps the best of all. Those 17 points gave Buchanan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nate Vereen-Burton, who had 11 points.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Buena Vista, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 77-70 win over Elkhorn South on Thursday.
Burke better keep an eye on LC Doss. He was instrumental in Buena Vista's win, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 assists. The matchup was Doss' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Zhyaire Partee was another key player, going 7 for 8 on his way to 16 points.
Buena Vista's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Burke, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Burke and Buena Vista are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Burke hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 59.2 points per game. However, it's not like Buena Vista struggles in that department as they've been averaging 60.4 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Everything came up roses for Burke against Buena Vista in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 68-35 win. Does Burke have another victory up their sleeve, or will Buena Vista turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
