Emily Pietrzykowski made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single hit and allowing only two earned runs while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Those home runs were her first of the season.
In other batting news, Melissa Sawyer was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.
