Brady Harrison was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Carson Collins made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Grayson Reynolds, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Northmont made sure to put some runs up on the board against Wayne on Friday. The Thunderbolts were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Warriors. The victory continues a trend for the Thunderbolts in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won four in a row.
Northmont also got a great performance from Kaden Nickell as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Nickell also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Thunderbolts are 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-9-1 otherwise.
At the plate, Chase Fuduloff was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Brady Lupton was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs.
Northmont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wayne only posted an OBP of .333.
Northmont pushed their record up to 8-10-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Brookville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-14.
Brookville suffered a grim 12-1 defeat to Northmont in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Blue Devils have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
