 In other batting news, Ponchatoula let  Rae'El Wheat and  Olivia Hutchinson run wild. Wheat  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3, while  Hutchinson  went 2-for-4 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  RBI.  Kamryn Johnson was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with one  stolen base and two  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Pope John Paul II suffered their closest  loss since March 25, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Chalmette by a score of  6-4. The Jaguars haven't had much luck with the Owls recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
 Ponchatoula's win was  their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 4-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs over those games. As for Pope John Paul II, their  defeat was their first of the  season and  makes their record 2-1.
