It was another big night for Jaivyn Carter, who scored 26 points along with seven rebounds and five assists for Hillcrest Christian. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Severe McNeary, who scored 17 points along with four steals.
Porter's Chapel Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Hillcrest Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-6.
Porter's Chapel Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Prairie View Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Prairie View Academy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Hillcrest Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face River Oaks at 7:30 p.m. on January 11th. River Oaks will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 249th in Louisiana, while Hillcrest Christian is ranked 93rd in Mississippi).
