The Pomona Panthers posted their closest win since November 29, 2023 on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 43-40 win over Littleton. The win made it back-to-back wins for Pomona.
Pomona found their leader in underclassman Dj Hawkins, who scored 16 points along with three steals. Hawkins has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last three times he's played. Jaxon Perry was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Littleton still got an impressive performance from Treyton Fletcher, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 55% of Littleton's points, marking the tenth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Griffin, who scored seven points.
Pomona's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-14. As for Littleton, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pomona will face off against Dakota Ridge at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Littleton, they will head out on the road to take on Evergreen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
