It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Rich had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Monticello Buckaroo 50-14. The Rebels pushed the score to 50-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Buckaroo cut but never quite recovered from.
Rich found their leader in sophomore Hudson Parry, who rushed for 151 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 81 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Hoffman, who rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown.
Rich didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Ryker Hoffman.
The victory (which was Rich's fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.5 points. As for Monticello, they moved to 8-4 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
As of now, neither Rich nor Monticello have any future games scheduled.
