Headland has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the New Brockton Gamecocks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Headland posted their closest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-41 win over Carroll. The win was all the more spectacular given Headland's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while Carroll is ranked 133rd).
Meanwhile, New Brockton waltzed into their match on Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They secured a 72-68 W over Pike County. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Headland's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-10-1. As for New Brockton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-11 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Headland against New Brockton when the teams last played back in December of 2018 as the team secured a 86-35 win. Does Headland have another victory up their sleeve, or will New Brockton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
