In what's become a running theme this season, the Community School of Davidson Spartans gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 85-58 victory over Mountain Island Charter at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 50-28.
Austin Moran was his usual excellent self, going 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 36 points and 7 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was John Shields, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.
Mountain Island Charter lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Peyton Hill, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Christan Jones, who scored ten points.
Community School of Davidson has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Mountain Island Charter, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Community School of Davidson will square off against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Averaging 65.89 points so far this season, Lincoln Charter's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so the Spartans better be ready for a challenge. As for Mountain Island Charter, they will head out on the road to take on the Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Christ the King is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.2 points per game this season.
