The Peru Tigers will head out to take on the Culver Academies Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Peru is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Peru needed a bit of extra time to put away Wabash. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Apaches 4-3. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Apaches recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Jackson Boswell spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, William Rodriguez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Musser, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Culver Academies gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Knox by a score of 9-6.
Sam Grundberg made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Culver Academies got a massive performance out of Ainsley Ritchie, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Ritchie has become a key player for the Eagles: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Nick Langenberg, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Culver Academies kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Culver Academies now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Peru, their record is now 10-4.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Peru hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .363. However, it's not like Culver Academies struggles in that department as they've averaged .342. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Peru couldn't quite finish off Culver Academies in their previous meeting back in April of 2022 and fell 8-6. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
