The Arapahoe Warriors will face off against the Ponderosa Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The last three games Arapahoe has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Thursday, Arapahoe didn't have quite enough to beat El Camino and fell 10-9.
Gussie Maynard stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Tyson Watson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.
Maynard wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Arapahoe kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Ponderosa ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Falcon, sneaking past 9-8. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won four in a row.
Nick Moe looked comfortable as he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Isai Santaella was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Ponderosa: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Grady Jacobs, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.
Ponderosa's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Arapahoe, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Arapahoe took their win against Ponderosa in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-5. Does Arapahoe have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ponderosa turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
