Softball Recap: Cordova Wins Going Away Against Sumiton Christian

Cordova made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Sumiton Christian, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Blue Devils put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 9-3 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Camden Johnson was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Ella Grace Madison was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Johnson wasn't the only one making solid contact: Cordova kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games.

Cordova's victory bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Sumiton Christian, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-9.

Cordova has already played their next contest, a 5-1 defeat against Oak Mountain on the 4th. As for Sumiton Christian, they will host Hueytown at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
