It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Mexico had no problem doing just that  on Friday. They came out on top against the Kirksville Tigers by a score of  21-14. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered  a  28-13  defeat the last time these two teams met.
 The critical scores for Mexico came from  Hunter Cuno,  Drew Demint,  and  Korbyn Dorsey.
 Mexico was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 235  rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kirksville only rushed for 94.
 Mexico wouldn't let Kirksville keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Mexico can thank  Charlie Fisher and  Leighton Hilderman for forcing both of them.
 Loss or not, Kirksville got some senior leadership from  Ryder Lyons and  Jace Kent.  Lyons threw for 303 yards and two touchdowns, while  Kent gained 171 total yards and a touchdown. Those 303  passing yards set a new season-high mark for  Lyons.
 The  win  got Mexico back to even at 5-5. As for Kirksville,  with the  defeat, they broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-1.
 Mexico will be staying on the road  on Friday to face off against Hannibal. Hannibal will roll in looking for their  fourth straight  victory, something Mexico surely won't give up without a fight. Kirksville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
