Softball Recap: Riverside Has No Trouble Against Eastside

Riverside was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Eastside on Monday. Riverside was the clear victor by a 22-1 margin over Eastside. Considering the Warriors' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Madison Thieke was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Natalie Regan, who went 4-for-5 with two triples, two RBI, and one run.

Thieke wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Riverside kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastside only managed six hits.

Riverside's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-3. As for Eastside, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-7-2.

Riverside wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-3 loss against Gaffney on the 25th. Eastside has also already played their next game (against James F. Byrnes), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
