The Union Cougars fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Manti Templars on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Templars by a score of 49-47. Union has struggled against Manti recently, as their match on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Leading Manti to victory were Cadee Alder and Brooklyn Olson. Alder scored 19 points along with 7 steals, while Olson scored 19 points along with 8 steals and 6 rebounds. Olson hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games.
Union's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Manti, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Union will be playing in front of their home fans against Wasatch at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Wasatch will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line. As for Manti, they will head out on the road to face off against Grantsville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Grantsville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday.
