After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Palisades, the Marvin Ridge Mavericks were happy to have found some success on Friday. They strolled past Sun Valley with points to spare, taking the game 71-55. Given Marvin Ridge's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Sun Valley is ranked 394th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Marvin Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cinjun Bridges led the charge by going 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 2 assists. Josh Clark was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
Marvin Ridge's win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Sun Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Weddington the next time they take the court. Sun Valley will head out to face Weddington at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Marvin Ridge will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
