Triad is 8-2 against Waterloo since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Triad Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Waterloo Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Triad will be strutting in after a victory while Waterloo will be coming in after a loss.
Last Tuesday, Triad escaped with a win against Columbia by the margin of a single free throw, 41-40.
Meanwhile, Waterloo fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Wesclin on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 51-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. While losing is never fun, Waterloo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while Wesclin is ranked 50th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Alex Stell, who scored 17 points. The match was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Yochum, who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds.
The losses dropped Triad to 3-1 and Columbia to 3-2.
Everything came up roses for Triad against Waterloo in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 55-15 victory. Does Triad have another victory up their sleeve, or will Waterloo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
