Vermilion Valley recap October 22, 2013
Bismarck-Henning added to the longest winning streak in Vermilion Valley this week by beating Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman, 42-19. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Blue Devils.
Jamaica/Catlin moved up to 250 from 280 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Storm were able to move up by besting Heyworth 26-20.
Bismarck-Henning's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Dylan Allen threw for 35 and 1 touchdown and Braedon Lappin-Pratt had 22 yards receiving. On the ground Mo Abbed chipped in 168 yards. Dustyn Ingram helped Bismarck-Henning's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 10 yards.
Abbed provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Mark Dodd's team beat the Buffaloes. Abbed's favorite target this week was Lappin-Pratt, who caught 2 passes for 22 yards.
Abbed was the best running back in the league this week. In 14 carries, he ran for 168 yards as the Blue Devils defeated Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman. Teammate Patrick Ganley added to the ground attack by rushing for 141 yards.
Bismarck-Henning's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Blue Devils feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Allen has thrown for 459 yards and 9 touchdowns this season, while Lappin-Pratt has 10 catches for 126 yards.
An important game coming up in Vermilion Valley this week will be when Westville takes on Jason Baccadutre's team. As it stands, the Tigers are in third, while the Buffaloes are in fifth.
Milford/Cissna Park led the league in scoring this week after putting up 55 points on Oakwood/Armstrong.
