Baseball Recap: Camden Fairview's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Camden Fairview can bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Smackover Buckaroos with a sharp 12-2 victory. The Cardinals not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 11, 2024.

Dayson Connelly was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Connelly was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jy'Mauri Utsey was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Zac Morehead was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Camden Fairview's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Smackover, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Camden Fairview will head out to take on Prescott at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Smackover, they will head out on the road to square off against Bauxite at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
