The Douglas Tigers were the 43-38 winner over the Bishop Manogue Miners when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Douglas fell to Bishop Manogue 55-51. Douglas just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
Jett Lehmann and Caden Thacker certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Lehmann scored 16 points along with three steals and two blocks, while Thacker dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Thacker pulled down eight or more rebounds. Trace Estes was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds.
Bishop Manogue's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Williams, who scored 19 points. Williams hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Liam Sorensen, who scored 13 points along with two steals and two blocks.
Douglas' loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Bishop Manogue, their win bumped their record up to 8-13.
Douglas will be playing in front of their home fans against Galena at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop Manogue, they will head out on the road to face off against McQueen at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (McQueen is ranked 53rd, while Bishop Manogue is ranked 39th).
