Leading Las Vegas to victory were Jahmarrick Davenport and Tayshaun Jackson. Davenport scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and six assists, while Jackson scored 28 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davenport has scored all season. Jakhai Jones was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
When it comes to explaining why Sunrise Mountain lost, one person who can't be blamed is Elijah Redic. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds. Redic continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brice Wilson, who scored 11 points.
Las Vegas has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Sunrise Mountain, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Las Vegas will face off against Silverado at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Cyril Franklin, Jr. and Jackson. As for Sunrise Mountain, they will head out on the road to take on Bonanza at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bonanza has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5.
