Meanwhile, Greeneview came into Friday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Fairbanks 9-2 on Friday. Considering the Rams have won five games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Gabbie Burkett made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Burkett was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mya Simpson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Sutton, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one double, and one RBI.
Greeneview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in seven consecutive matchups.
Greeneview's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Catholic Central, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.
Catholic Central might still be hurting after the 18-0 defeat they got from Greeneview in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Irish avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
