The Chiefland Indians will square off against the Dixie County Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chiefland will be strutting in after a win while Dixie County will be coming in after a defeat.
Chiefland came out on top against Taylor County on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Indians took their contest against the Bulldogs 9-5. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.
Anna Jane Meeks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Klaire Mullis, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Evie Meeks, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Chiefland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Taylor County only managed seven.
Dixie County couldn't beat Union County on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Bears took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fighting Tigers. The loss continues a trend for the Bears in their meetings with the Fighting Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.
Tearra Collins was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Dixie County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Chiefland, their win bumped their record up to 8-13.
Chiefland got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 against Dixie County by a conclusive 10-3 score. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
