After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lyndon, the Council Grove Braves were happy to have found some success on Monday. They secured a 46-41 W over Osage City. For Council Grove, this counts as revenge for the 63-45 loss Osage City walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Council Grove's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brycen Palmquist, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Palmquist has scored at least a third of Council Grove's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kolby Rose, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Council Grove has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. As for Osage City, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Council Grove will face off against Eureka at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Osage City will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Olpe on Friday.
